- Sub: Re[2]: View/Data Architecture
-
- Anyone who is interested in the multiple view update / dependency problem
- should check out the article "A Structure For Efficient Update, Incremental
- Redisplay and Undo in Graphical Editors" in IEEE Software - Practice and
- Experience, Vol. 20(2) 109-132 (February 1990). As the title implies it also
- has a mechanism for (virtually) transparent multi-level undo. The actual data
- structures the article suggests are too slow for my use (and probably for most
- applications) but I found the article to be a good mind stimulator.
-
- Most people programming the Mac never read IEEE or ACM publications and are the
- poorer for it. Subscribe to everything you can get your hands on. Apart from
- the great articles, they keep your mind active, and help stop your focus
- narrowing.
